About Your Therapist
CHRIS TALLBACKA OTR/L, CHT
Chris graduated from the University of Florida with her degree in Occupational Therapy in 1991. She became a Board Certified Hand Therapist in 2014. Although Chris’ passion is Hand Therapy, she has an extensive background with many populations serviced by Occupational Therapy, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, school systems, home health and outpatient clinics. Chris created Hands From Home during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she saw a need for quarantined hand therapy patients to receive services without being exposed to the deadly virus.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST?
A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), is an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist who has undergone extensive training and rigorous testing to be considered an expert in rehabilitation of the upper extremity, from the shoulder to the hand. A CHT is required to demonstrate continued competency by re-certifying every 5 years. As of May 2020 there are only 6,460 CHTs in the United States (HTCC.org).

"Hi Chris, just a note to say thank you for the help in getting the use of my wrist back. I've been playing music in bands all my life. The injury set me back. But with your help I have regained full motion and am back playing again. I couldn't have done it without you. I would highly recommend your services to anyone in need of wrist or hand therapy."

"Chris was outstanding when working with her after I broke my wrist. Her knowledge is unbelievable. As a professional golfer on the PGA Tour and competing at the highest level, I needed to trust my therapist to get me back on track. Chris's caring ways for each patient go a long way. I highly recommend Chris as your therapist."
